20th Anniversary of Srebrenica Massacre
Bosnia is marking the twentieth anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, with a burial for 136 newly identified victims. The remains of the victims are being laid to rest next to thousands of others already buried at a site just outside Srebrenica. Over eight thousand Muslim men were slaughtered by Bosnian Serb forces in the UN-protected enclave of Srebrenica in 1995. Recently uncovered documents show that a decision by France, Britain and the United States to halt the airstrikes against Serbian forces, paved the way for the bloodshed. Two international tribunals have described the massacre as genocide.
