Why are men polygamous by nature? Power of the Visual
The episode delves into the nature of male sexuality and the power of the visual in stimulating men’s arousal. It challenges the societal notion that men are merely socialized to view women as sex objects, presenting the argument that men are inherently programmed by nature, not society, to respond sexually to visual stimuli. The guest emphasizes the difference in how men and women are aroused visually, highlighting that men are predominantly visually stimulated, while women typically require more than just visual cues. Through various examples, such as the overwhelming response of heterosexual men to images of women compared to the limited interest of women in male strip shows, the episode illustrates the unique and powerful impact of visual stimuli on men’s sexual arousal.
Furthermore, the episode underscores the significance of understanding the power of the visual in male sexuality for women seeking insight into the male perspective. It sheds light on common advertising practices that leverage scantily clad women to attract male consumers, emphasizing the allure of the visual representation of women in marketing. While emphasizing the importance of men controlling their behavior, the episode makes a thought-provoking comparison to denying the visual’s effect on men akin to denying the Earth is round, implying the undeniable influence visual stimuli have on male arousal. By unpacking these dynamics, the episode aims to bridge understanding between men and women regarding differences in sexual arousal triggers, ultimately aiming to dispel misconceptions and foster mutual understanding.
Why are men polygamous by nature? The Answer is very simple. This may be a very bitter pill to swallow for many people, especially for those women that come from the Indian subcontinent. However, the reality is that men, by their very nature, are “wired” to be polygamous. If they do not get to practice polygamy in the correct, responsible and ethical sense of the word, they will practice an unethical form of serial polygamy involving mistresses and prostitutes.
There are two books that support this claim, backed up by scientific studies and analysis. Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of modern sexuality by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha, and The Myth of Monogamy by David P. Barash and Judith Eve Lipton. Both of these books are available online and in bookstores. I would suggest that naysayer of polygamous marriages read these books to understand that there is a great deal of wisdom associated with the Islamic rulings related to polygamy. In this video, the same issue is discussed but only Islam gives the moral and ethical solution that was legislated by God Almighty.
Why are men so easily turned on sexually by a woman’s legs, but not vice-versa? Why are female strip clubs so much more prevalent and popular than male strip clubs, but not vice-versa? In five minutes, Dennis Prager explains why the answers to these questions reveal so much about male and female sexual nature, and how the visual impacts the two sexes in totally different ways.
This in no way excuses men or women to disobey the Almighty in what He has commanded but to do everything that is natural in a permissible way in Marriage.
Again this is not for everyone but it is a solution and an option that is there in Islam while being a blessing and mercy for the growing number of women who can’t get married.
“Do not go near fornication and adultery, it is an abomination and an evil way.” (Quran 17:32).
“Tell the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them; And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.
And tell the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty…” (Quran 24:30-31).
